“We asked Optimise to come along to our practice because we had not had a CQC inspection for four years. We had our telephone call review with the Inspector but knew that was not the same as a full on inspection and that there are always areas for improvement. So Martin and Jenny came along at 8.30am on a Thursday morning and we began.
You can’t imagine how useful the day was, naturally we had done a “sweep” of every consultation room, but there were few items that we’d missed ☹. We reviewed a significant number of the areas within the 5 CQC domains together. Jenny and Martin also spent time with our GP Registered Manager for CQC, our Infection Control nurse, our Lead Nurse Prescriber and four members of our admin and reception team.
We have now received a comprehensive report of the day and a detailed action plan. As Martin is a Practice Manager he was supportive of the issues we PMs face. Although we didn’t have everything in perfect order Jenny and Martin were not condemning or negative, they simply wanted to guide us in a friendly, but focussed way to become more CQC savvy and to get ourselves ship-shape for when we have another inspection. I would recommend that every practice have them round for the day”
